Health & safety
华体会体育官网Employees and contractors face inherent risks when installing and maintaining equipment and constructing base stations on behalf of our customers. We focus on ensuring that all our employees and contractors are aware of the risks related to their jobs and receive the necessary training and equipment to work safely, whether in the office or on site. We address job-related health and safety risks through training, analysis, assessments and consequence management.

Life Saving Rules
Health and safety is part of our annual Ethical Business Training which was completed by 96.7% of our employees . Our Life Saving Rules are easy to understand in any language, in any culture. They are non-negotiable and not open to interpretation. They are fair and consistent, and everyone understands the benefits and the consequences. These are the six ground rules of safety and everyone – our employees, or external contractors or suppliers, is expected to follow them at all times, without exceptions.
华体会体育官网Only with discipline in following these safety rules can we prevent accidents from happening. The rules relate to our top risk areas: driving, working at height, and electrical activities.
The 3 first rules are related to Road Safety
- Always wear a seat belt in any vehicle
- Do not drive distracted or tired
- Always drive at a safe speed for road, traffic and weather conditions
华体会体育官网We have 2 rules related to Work at Height
- Always attach yourself and your equipment when working at height
- Always make sure that no-one enters the space below when you are working at height
And 1 related to Electrical work
- Do not work live. Do not work on any electrical system unless you are trained.
华体会体育官网We know that life from time to time can be tough, challenges can arise from work, health, families or financial issues which sometimes place people under a lot of pressure. In order to support individuals and line managers at these times we offer a global Personal Support Service which provides access, in local language, to support services and if needed counseling for those that need it.
Throughout 2019 employees globally had the opportunity to participate in a number of onsite and virtual learning events to raise awareness and educate employees on a variety of topics that can support their wellbeing and their performance at work, including emotional wellness, coping with change, resilience and work-life balance. There are many country-led wellbeing programs in Nokia and in November 2019, our technology center in Wroclaw, Poland received an award in the “Employer of Health” contest organized by the Ministry of Health in Poland for their Wellbeing program which raised awareness on topics such as stress, physical activity, cancer, nutrition and much more.
